New GM named for DHB
Southern DHB’s chief operating officer is moving to the top of the south to take on a role with Nelson Marlborough Health.
Lexie O’Shea has been appointed as the general manager of clinical services, the role which was held by Dr Peter Bramley for seven years before he was appointed as the health board’s chief executive in April.
Prior to that, Bramley had been the acting chief executive for eight months.
O’Shea is currently the chief operating officer and deputy chief executive at Southern DHB. Her roles were recently disestablished as part of a proposed restructure that was announced in April.
She will start at Nelson Marlborough Health in September.
‘‘Lexie will bring extensive leadership experience and a commitment to clinical partnerships, from her roles across South Island district health boards, to Nelson Marlborough Health,’’ Bramley said.
‘‘We’re pleased to have someone of Lexie’s experience join our organisation and look forward to her contribution as we develop new models of care to support the redevelopment of Nelson Hospital.’’
O’Shea began her career as a medical laboratory technologist, and has held numerous management and leadership roles for Southern District Health Board.
They included managing the integration of services as Southland and Otago DHBs merged in 2010, and overseeing Southern’s provider arm since 2012.
