Describe your house in two sentences?

Our little home is a onebedroom apartment five minutes walk away from Bondi Beach. The apartment is tidy and functional but has a relaxed and fresh vibe through the introduction of greenery and numerous candle scents.

Describe your style in four words?

Classic, minimal, fresh, monochrome.

Where is your home and who lives there with you?

I live with my long term boyfriend Jason. We have lived in this apartment for just over a year.

What is your favourite room/area in the house and why?

I love our sunroom. It’s filled with light for the majority of the day and is the room I spend most of my day working in. Having light in my workspace and home is really important. The sunroom was one of the reasons we moved to this specific apartment.

What is your proudest DIY moment?

Hmmm, I’m not much of a DIY person, however I have definitely had to get creative with the space in our small apartment so that I can fit all my An Organised Life bits & pieces in. For example, our pantry currently has my tissue paper, calendars and paper bags all stacked neatly, and I have moved our pantry items to a smaller cupboard in the kitchen. With just two of us in the house, we actually don’t need a lot of pantry space. The closest I have come to actual DIY is building flat pack furniture.

What is the best kept secret about the area you live in?

BRU - it’s my favourite cafe in Bondi and is hidden away at the North end of the beach. Ever since I moved to Sydney (nearly 5 years ago) I have been to BRU every morning for a coffee before work. I’m also obsessed with their Acai Bowls & Porridge.

What is your favourite way of entertaining?

I love a relaxed night with girlfriends in the lounge, catching up over a wine and cheese platter.

What is your favourite piece of furniture?

I love our beautiful concrete slab dining table and also our ivory couch. Perfect for entertaining and relaxing.

Workspace wise - I can’t go past my white pin board. I update it frequently with new ideas, paper swatches, mood-boards, etc.

What is your favourite artwork or family treasure and why you love it?

To be honest, I don’t have one piece of artwork in particular. Because Jason and I come from a graphic design and photography background we both love updating our artwork frequently with new illustrations, photos or graphic pieces we come across. At the moment I’m loving a Paris map I found a few months ago and also a print by Dina Broadhurst.

What is one thing you would like to change around your house?

I would love wooden floors and a fresh coat of white paint. But sadly we are just renting so hopefully one day in the future when we have our own place we can tick those boxes.

What is your favourite/least favourite household chore?

Taking out the rubbish is definitely my least favourite. Vacuuming or re-organising our cupboards/wardrobe is my favourite. It’s so satisfying.

What’s one domestic/ housework/gardening trick you’ve learnt over the years?

Get your cleaning over and done with early in the morning so you can relax for the rest of the day. Also JIF cleaning product is the answer to so many cleaning needs.
