Strong lineup for Ocean Vine Hop

- CHLOE RANFORD

After a successful kickoff last year, Ocean Vine Hop is back for round two, announcing the lineup for its next event in November.

Marlborough4Fun’s festival headliners include the Jordan Luck band, playing all the Kiwi classics, and Automatic 80s, New Zealand’s leading 80s touring show.

Chief executive Katrina Lange said attendees can be expected to be transported back in time with live, loud and pumping performances from the headline acts.

‘‘The music was an important last year to creating a fun atmosphere,’’ Lange said.

‘‘This year, we’ve kept the same genre of music and have stepped it up to the full Jordan Luck band.

‘‘We’re really excited to bring the event back to the region and build upon last year’s success.’’

The event will be an all-day R18 affair, combining culinary masterclasses, tastings and demonstrations, together with stalls offering beer, wine and other Marlborough produce, with tasty menus to choose from, Lange said.

Celebrity chef Jax Hamilton would also provide delicious tastings and demonstrations, matched with top local wines and beers.

The festival will be held at Churchill Glade, Pollard Park, in Blenheim on November 24.

‘‘Pollard Park is the perfect location,’’ Lange said.

‘‘It’s within walking distance from town, which prevents drink driving, and it has a great atmosphere.’’

Local ticket specials will be available for Marlburians between June 1 to June 22 at $38 per ticket. Non-discounted tickets would cost $45 online or $55 at the gate.

‘‘Locals will need to prove they’re from Marlborough by going to Blenheim’s ASB Theatre in person with proof of address,’’ Lange said.

She also said early bird tickets would be available at $40 per ticket between June 1 to June 30 for all attendees, ‘‘both local and national’’.

‘‘We have a limit of 4000 tickets,’’ Lange said.

‘‘There was a good attendance rate last year, with just under 2000 people.

‘‘Since then, we’ve been inundated with calls of people asking when this year’s tickets will go live.’’

Tickets are expected to go live on June 1. Visit oceanvinehop.co.nz for more information.
