Renwick ready to roll for top 2020 season

-

The folks at Renwick Rugby Club are working hard behind the scenes to ensure the sponsors, supporters and players will enjoy a successful season, with all the early signs very encouraging.

The Norwood Renwick Division One side has improved over the last few years and are determined to make an impact in 2020.

The squad sees the addition of last year’s Marlborough Boys’ College 1st XV star Sky Boskett-Barnes.

Sky will reunite with former MBC teammates Daniel Jones, Sione Lonitenisi, Jadyn Holdaway and Jaden Lister to form a youthful squad, complemented with the return of core local players.

Glenn Blackmore will be assisted by Cory Holdaway and Ti’i Paulo to form a very experienced coaching staff.

The Division Two side will once again be coached by Karl Hutching, who is joined by Gavin Thomas. They have had a promising pre-season with the return of last year’s players and the introduction of some exciting new young talent, too.

The JAB Junior Rugby will be coordinated by Kelly Canning, with a team in each grade and passionate coaches and managers helping to showcase and encourage the talent of the latest generation of players.

The Junior Muster Day on March 7 was very successful, and the club encourages players and supporters who want more information to contact them on the Renwick Rugby Club Facebook page or website, and they hope to see you on the sidelines for what promises to be an exciting season ahead.
