Dixon starts 5th

-

Scott Dixon started from fifth place at the Kohler Grand Prix as he looks to maintain his IndyCar Series lead. The Kiwi driver qualified in the top five for the seventh time in 10 races this season during the Sunday (NZ time) qualifying session. His time of 1.42.9308 in the third and final qualifying round was more than 1.5 seconds down on pole-sitter Helio Castroneves. It was the Brazilian’s 50th pole of his distinguished IndyCar career. His team-mate Will Power was just .06 of a second behind in second, while fellow Team Penske drivers Josef Newgarden and Simon Pagenaud were third and fourth respectively. That means Dixon, who drives for Chip Ganassi Racing, will have to get past a great wall of Penske if he wants to win his first race of the season.
