Uso leading the way
Uso, last year’s runners-up, continued to set the pace at the halfway stage of Marlborough Volleyball’s Fairweathers’ Spring League.
On Thursday evening at Marlborough Lines Stadium 2000, Uso downed Cri Clovers 3-0 in the last game of the evening.
Uso were relentless in the first set, winning it 25-17. However, Cri Clovers stepped up their serving, led by Paul O’Donnell, and held an edge on the scoreboard for the majority of the second set until Uso came out hitting hard to steal the win 25-22. Strong serving by both sides was a feature of this fast-paced game, with not many long rallies eventuating as Uso completed a clean sweep by taking out the final set, 25-22.

second set, Treefellas fought hard and rebounded to win 25-16. However consistent serving by Fairweathers allowed them to claim the third and the overall win, 25-19.
The best game of the evening was a fluctuating contest between Defying Gravity and Dank Lords, won by the former 25-20 19-25 18-10.
