Stupefiants

-

Stupefiants – this is a beautiful word the French use to describe drugs of all forms. They stupefy!

The majority of people using drugs nowadays call them recreational drugs – this to escape the realities of life. The market offers a great variety from cannabis to P. In absence of standards and regulations alternative products are often concocted by back room chemists.

The side effects of all these drugs are unpredictable, varying from peaceful to extremely violent, in particular when alcohol is added for augmented effect.

In this context I read with astonishment in the paper that hospitals now have to employ security staff to protect the doctor and nurses against uncontrolled behaviour of stoned nutcases whilst trying to attend other patients. I wonder why these PC people call drug addicts mental health patients – what rubbish!

Drug addicts are not mentally ill – they are on a self-determined, self-chosen path towards hell. Their choice. Unfortunately nondrug users have to pay for and live with this section of our society. I believe the way to deal with aggressive drug addicts is to put them in a padded cell, lock the door, and let them go cold turkey.

Unfortunately this is the world we now live in – PC versus law and order.
