location’’ for the new Bohally Intermediate, despite an update on the project showing the new ‘‘zone plans’’ for each school.
The plans, as part of the ‘‘master planning process’’, show a build zone in the area of College Park occupied by the hockey turf and roller skating rink, with a green zone occupying land that is already open space.
Trotter said College Park could not be confirmed as the new Bohally site until the Marlborough District Council lease on the park was terminated.
‘‘Discussions are positive, and the council has agreed in principle to terminate the lease. It will be our confirmed site once lease negotiations have been finalised,’’ Trotter said.
The option to build at College Park would minimise disruption to teaching and learning at all schools involved in the project, enabling them to operate normally during the construction of a new intermediate, he said.
‘‘Parents, caregivers and wha¯nau have been clear in saying a key concern for this project is around ensuring disruption to teaching and learning is minimised. College Park gives us the ability to address this, while also being an ideal site for the school.’’
Bohally and the girls’ college were located on the future site of the colocated colleges campus, and College Park was currently used by the boys’ college, but Trotter said none of the schools involved in the project would move their operations during the construction of the new campuses.
