Night out in aid of netball

- By JESSICA FLOYD-CRABBE

The Matamata College A netball fundraiser to be held in the Matamata College Hall on August 31 from 7.30pm is sure to be out of this world, with lots of auctions, prizes up for grabs and a fashion parade to entertain everyone looking for a great night.

Sponsored by The Velvet Room, the Shooting for the Stars Fashion Extravaganza fundraiser will help the team get to the Upper North Island netball competition in Auckland.

There will be a guest speaker, surprise guest models, and a prize of two weeks at a holiday bach in Whitianga, plus many more prizes to be won from the auction.

Matamata College’s 1st XV rugby players will team up with the netballers to model in the entertaining fashion parade, certain to be a big highlight of the evening.

A table for 10 people is $ 500, which includes four bottles of wine, nibbles throughout the evening, table service and a goody bag, and $35 per seat, with one glass of wine and snacks.

A live band will perform and a cash bar will also be available. Prizes from the auc- tion include a $ 500 Velvet Room voucher and a Pandora bracelet.

Members of the team said it was important to acknowledge all those who had helped organise the event, and the coach of the Matamata College A Netball team coach Rebecca Carter.

Big thanks also to Ewan Atherton from New World.

Tickets can be purchased at the college office.
