Po­lice lay mul­ti­ple charges

At 7pm a 25-year-old man was ar­rested for dis­or­derly be­hav­iour, as­sault­ing po­lice, in­ten­tional dam­age and pos­ses­sion of uten­sils af­ter po­lice were called to a Col­lege St ad­dress. ated on Sta­tion Rd. A wit­ness saw the car be­ing left there and four youths at­tempt­ing to set it on fire. When the wit­ness went to in­ves­ti­gate the of­fend­ers ran off. Po­lice at­tended the fol­low­ing morn­ing and found a cell­phone in the car. In­quiries re­vealed that the phone had been taken from an Ash­worth Pl ad­dress that was later es­tab­lished to have been bur­gled. Po­lice be­lieve all in­ci­dents are con­nected. They urge the pub­lic to contact po­lice straight away when they see or hear sus­pi­cious be­hav­iour. Mata­mata Po­lice op­er­ate 24/7.

An elec­tric scooter was taken from an ad­dress on Brown St and found on El­iz­a­beth St.

A 20-year-old youth was ar­rested and charged for driv­ing with ex­cess breath al­co­hol. He also had his car im­pounded for sus­tained loss of trac­tion un­der the Boy Racer Act.
