Thrilling weekend for horse fans

- By ALI TOCKER

Horse lovers will be pleased to hear that tickets for the Waikato’s three-day horse show Equidays, at Mystery Creek Events Centre, are on sale now. The flagship three-day show is back in November for its second year in a row.

The show is an allencompassing equine event focusing on all aspects of the horse world. Features will include demonstrations from all the equine disciplines, exhibitions, competitions, clinics, training with experts and night shows.

Mystery Creek Events Centre said any surpluses from Equidays will be reinvested back into the growth of the event or into development of the events centre.

Young horse riders from the Waikato and around the country are being offered the chance of a lifetime to be closely involved with the event. The events centre is offering young horse enthusiasts the opportunity to apply to take part in an onsite camp that will be held throughout Equidays.

The camp is for people aged 21 and under, and 30 places are available.

Successful applicants will stay in the camp for the whole event, from November 2 to 4. They will ride twice a day with Equidays clinicians, and see all clinics and demonstrations and two night shows free.

To take part, riders must be members of a New Zealand Pony Club and have a C+ or above horse riding certificate.

The events centre said Equidays will largely subsidise the camp, with each participant paying only a small deposit.

Application forms for the camp and Equidays tickets are available at equidays.co.nz.

Applications close tomorrow.
