Heartfelt challenge around Lake Taupo

Matamata’s Heath Tapper will take on the 160 kilometre Contact Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge on Saturday to raise money for Heart Kids.

Mr Tapper’s one-year-old nephew Vann was born with congenital heart disease and recently had his second open-heart surgery (full story in last week’s Chronicle).

On Monday, Mr Tapper was leading the fundraising for New Zealand with a total of $3265. His goal amount was $3500.
