Fishing up prizes

Not only are some great fishing opportunities up for grabs at Matamata Fishing Club’s December fishing tournament, but so is this impressive Massey Ferguson ride-on lawnmower worth $4500.

The tournament is open to club members, and when the mower winner is announced, he or she must be there to claim it.

Among many other prizes is a Giltrap Topper worth $2000 and Massey Ferguson has also donated more than$1000 of prizes.

Kevin Morey from Matamata Tractors and Machinery said he loves fishing and his firm wanted the tournament to be a suc- cess, which is part of the reason they sponsored the event and donated the ride-on mower.

‘‘If there is a good prize then it encourages more people to enter and makes it more exciting.

‘‘The better the prize, the better the tournament.

‘‘Fishing is a great day out for the whole family. I find it so relaxing to take my two boys, aged 8 and 5, out fishing. We all love it as it’s a great, fun family sport.’’
