Add some Christmas sparkle

It’s Christmas! Ho ho ho . . . Well it is just around the corner and what better way to get into the Christmas spirit than decorating your home with sparkling Christmas lights!

The annual lights spectacular is kicking off and now is your chance to enter and make Matamata, the home of Hobbiton, shine brightly.

Sponsored by Bayleys, the categories include best residential lit house, best rural lit house, best new entrant and to get the CBD glowing, best lit business, sponsored by the Matamata Chronicle.

Entry into the competition is free, and there are some great prizes on offer for those who take part.

‘‘Solar lights are so easy, using the power of the sun there is no cost and no fuss!’’ said Bayleys manager, Margaret Troughton.

‘‘We had some fantastic entries last year and challenge you all to give our town and community that sparkle.’’

Entries close on December 14. Judging will take place on the evenings of December 14, 15 and 16.
