Great community event

- Lady Margaret Spring Chairperson Pohlen Foundation Trust

I feel it is timely to say again just how much the Pohlen Foundation Trust values the community’s support when it comes to fundraising for Pohlen Hospital.

The third Real Homes and Garden Tour was held on March 2. What a wonderful community turnout.

There were 392 tour tickets sold, 950 raffle tickets sold, 39 local businesses involved either as direct sponsors or by providing goods or services, five community service groups involved as well as a host of individuals, not to mention the organising committee and of course the homeowners themselves.

We hope those who attended the Real Homes and Garden Tour had a wonderful day out with family and friends. It is always our aim to provide events that are varied and really enjoyable.

Certainly in this instance such an event could not happen without families willing to open their homes to the public.

So much time and preparation goes into making these homes ready for the day and I can’t stress enough how much we value this support.

Indeed we love it when people say to us ‘‘This is what I can do for Pohlen’’.

The tour is a wonderful example of our community’s commitment.

Thank you one and all. I am happy to report we raised a whopping $22,000 for the New Wing Project.
