A life transformed thanks to sponsor

-

Former Ugandan sponsored child, Lillian Nakabiri will be sharing her inspirational story in the North Island this April as part of the Beautiful Survivor Tour with TEAR Fund.

Ms Nakabiri will speak at the Matamata Baptist Church on Friday, April 12 at 7pm.

Born and raised in Kitetika, Uganda, her life was full of hardship and lack of basic needs.

As a baby, her mother died and her father was kidnapped.

At 10, Ms Nakabiri’s life changed when she was sponsored and steadily things began to improve.

After completing secondary school, she was selected as a leadership development student and gained a degree in mass communications.

Today she works as the Tours and Visits Specialist for Compassion Uganda.

Touring with Ms Nakabiri is highly sought- after award- winning Kiwi singer-song writer Juliagrace.

A down- to- earth mother- of- two, Julia’s voice with its raw strength make her a seriously appealing artist.

TEAR Fund event manager Gavin McCulloch is thrilled to be bringing Ms Nakabiri to New Zealand.

‘‘Lillian is a passionate advocate for youth and has spoken widely throughout the world at different conferences and events.

‘‘It is our privilege to host her in New Zealand to show Kiwis what a difference reaching out and sponsoring a child can make.’’

Entry is free but donations are welcome.
