Ash Tanner

-

Hi, my name is Ash Tanner. I am 48 years old and was born and raised in the Matamata Piako District (Te Aroha).

Married for 24 years, we have two sons aged 24 and 19 and I am proud to say we have a new baby granddaughter.

My interests are family, friends, hunting, fishing, motorcycles and watching rugby and league.

My first job was working shift work at NZCDC ( Fonterra) Waitoa, working six days on, two days off and changing shift hours every week. That provided me with a great work ethic moving forward to today.

I have been

a

business owner-operator for the last 11 years, firstly with Millennium Technology Taupo, where I was custom- building computers for customers.

Currently I run a panelbeating business in Te Aroha, incorporating the last three years as an elected councillor.

I am not running for mayor for the name, I will still be Ash.

I am running because I feel we need a mayor that knows how hard it is out there, who is honest, down to earth, practical, hardworking, grassroots, that’s motivated and listens.

I’m not going to make promises I can’t keep. But I can promise you what I will do if elected as mayor.

I will promote our district at every given opportunity.

I will encourage small and large businesses to set up or expand.

Minimise rate increases through sustainable spending.

Always look for ways we can save without compromising levels of service.

Work on the ‘‘Mayors Taskforce for Jobs’’ as developed by Mayor Dale Williams of Otorohanga, working with industry and local youth to encourage local jobs for local youth. Everybody benefits, you only have to research Otorohanga to see what Dale has achieved.

So, for the change we need, the voice you deserve; vote Ash Tanner for Mayor.
