More than $6k raised

The Pohlen Hospital Garage Sale was held last Saturday morning and what a marvellous event it was.

What started as a bit of a clean out around the hospital grew into a garage sale of epic proportions.

On behalf of both the hospital board and the foundation can I say thank you to the many people who donated good quality saleable items, we really appreciated your thinking of Pohlen.

To those who helped setup at the crack of dawn and those who helped sell all the items; thank you. There was not much left I assure you.

Matamata bakers are in a class of their own and the huge amount of donated baking was sold within the hour. Thank you Daisies for your fabulous help in that department.

Matthew and Sheree Hart from the New World supermarket; thank you for the sausage sizzle you so generously provided and cooked!

I would like to offer a special thank you to the Pohlen staff who gave their time to co-ordinate, collect and then sort and sell all manner of items, we are so grateful for all your assistance and enthusiasm.

The Pohlen Foundation Trust really does appreciate the community spirit shown.

I can report that we have raised about $6500 from the garage sale which will enable us to replace the 13 old [and failing] televisions with brand new ones.

We will also install Wi-Fi throughout the hospital – a job well done and what a great team we had.

Thank you one and all.
