Ready to Run grads ready for big day

-

New Zealand Bloodstock’s Ready to Run Sale of 2YOs is fast approaching with the two-day sale to be held at the Karaka sales complex on November 19-20.

The sale has established itself as the most successful sale of its kind in Australasia with an enviable record.

In the past five completed racing seasons Ready to Run graduates have been successful in 99 stakes races all over the world.

There have been 15 Group 1 victories by Sale graduates in the past six seasons with Matamata based sire Savabeel proving par- ticularly successful.

Waikato Stud’s resident stallion is the sire of triple Group 1 winner Sangster (NZ) (Savabeel), the winner of the renowned Group 1 VRC Derby as a three-year-old in Australia and successor of two Group 1 races in New Zealand last season.

The bargain $19,000 purchase produced a string of feature race wins that saw him victorious in the Group 1 Waikato International Stakes and the Group 1 Auckland Cup before embarking on an Australian campaign, with his third placing in the Group 1 Ranvet Stakes good enough for him to crack the $2 million prizemoney mark.

Savabeel has again seen one of his progeny take Australia by storm through Savvy Nature (NZ) (Savabeel), one of the current leading three-year-olds in Australia. Savvy Nature was triumphant early in the season at stakes level and has gone from strength to strength over long distances this spring, cementing his place as one the best three-year-olds in Australia. Last season also saw Group 1 victories by Ready to Run graduates Nashville ( NZ) ( Darci Brahma) in the Group 1 Haunui Farm Classic and Linton ( Galileo) in the prestigious Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap in Australia.

Further Group 1 success has been logged in the new season on the other side of the world with Super Ninetyseven (Show a Heart) winning at the elite level in Singapore.

The quality on offer this year is among the best seen at this sale, with an abundance of relatives to proven top performers.

The sale will see over 50 siblings to stakes winners, including to Group 1 winners Viadana, Military Move, Young Centaur, Ekstreme and (Mr) Baritone, along with 30 offspring of stakes winning racemares including the progeny of Group 1 winners Fayeform, Honor Lap, Moire and dual Auckland Cup winner Prized Lady.

With over 100 sires represented there is a full spectrum of bloodlines for a range of budgets.

Each horse has been given the opportunity to gallop down the home straight at Te Rapa racecourse in Hamilton, with the last 200m of their work timed and filmed for potential buyers. DVD copies of the Breeze Ups (for TV and PC) are available on request from New Zealand Bloodstock.

Clips can also be viewed online at www.nzb.co.nz.

The Ready to Run Sale is at the Karaka Sales Complex on Tuesday November 19 and Wednesday November 20 and is open to the public.
