Police investigated an unusual theft from a Morgan Rd property. Overnight, a grey Nissan Navara was taken from a shed. The vehicle was in a very damaged condition from being rolled on the farm and was thus only used on the farm. Nothing else was removed from the property and the person would have had to have knowledge about where the car was and how to start it, due to its damaged state. The vehicle was found on Puketutu Rd and due to its condition the finder assumed it had been involved in a crash so contacted police. The vehicle has been returned to the owner but police are keen to hear from anyone who knows anything in relation to this incident, or anyone who may have seen a damaged Nissan Navara in this time.

A wallet and a phone were stolen from a local gym. CCTV footage revealed a person taking them. While police were making inquiries, a local man came to the police station and admitted to taking the items. The phone and wallet were returned to their owner. Police are following up.
