MPS - they love it!

This weekend Matamata Junior Hockey welcomed Matamata Christian School to the competition and they pulled off a well earned victory over the Firth Fliers.

The first half started off with a hiss and a roar with Ruby Prebble scoring a goal in the opening minutes.

Firth defended hard and kept out many attempts at goal before Ruby again scored.

Going into the half time break both teams held their heads high and Firth believed they could turn it around in the second half.

The second half was an evenly played affair, with both teams attacking and defending hard. Neither team wanted to let one through and the half ended with Christian School ahead two nil. Well done on your first game. Great to see two developing teams coming out and playing with such enthusiasm.

All players had smiles and showed great sportsmanship. Well done!
