Out of control bonfire extinguish­ed by crew

Police said there was no increase in dangerous driving such as speeding and unsafe passing, but an increase in people feeling comfortabl­e to ring in. If police could prove that the behaviour had occurred the offenders were pulled over.

Matamata police attended a non-injury crash between two vehicles on State Highway 27 north of Waharoa. They also attended a crash between a car and a cow on SH29. A 29-year-old male was arrested for breach of bail.

April 8

Haybales were taken in a burglary of a Waharoa address.

April 11

A 24- year- old male was processed for drink-driving and will appear in the Morrinsvil­le District Court. A cafe in Waharoa was broken into and food was taken.
