Out of control bonfire extinguished by crew

Police said there was no increase in dangerous driving such as speeding and unsafe passing, but an increase in people feeling comfortable to ring in. If police could prove that the behaviour had occurred the offenders were pulled over.

Matamata police attended a non-injury crash between two vehicles on State Highway 27 north of Waharoa. They also attended a crash between a car and a cow on SH29. A 29-year-old male was arrested for breach of bail.

Haybales were taken in a burglary of a Waharoa address.
April 11
A 24- year- old male was processed for drink-driving and will appear in the Morrinsville District Court. A cafe in Waharoa was broken into and food was taken.
