Matamata police wondering who stole the pies

Police – April 14

A cafe in Waharoa was broken into and 60 pies were taken. Police attended an incident at the Matamata library where a local youth had stolen a tourist’s phone which he had plugged in to charge. The tourist got his phone back. Matamata police also attended a crash on the Kaimai where a vehicle lost control and hit a fence. The driver was uninjured.

April 18

– A person was disturbed on a property on Old Te Aroha Rd. Police are seeking a male known to them about the incident.

April 19

– Matamata police found a vehicle stolen from Tau- ranga on the Tower Rd Rawhiti Ave intersecti­on.

–A Matamata fire crew attended a house fire in George St but it was out by the time they arrived. A crew also attended an oven fire on Morgan Rd.

– A Matamata fire crew were called to smoke behind Braeburn House on Firth was a rubbish fire.

–A crew responded to a private fire alarm at Fonterra bulk stores.

–A fire crew were called to a rubbish fire on Mowbray Rd in Waharoa. A Matamata fire crew also attended a rubbish fire on Sheffield St.
