- By TERESA HATTAN

Matamata’s Apparelmaster has won the company’s franchise of the year for the second year in a row, beating out 33 other franchises around the country for the top award.

Apparelmaster is a workplace rental and laundry solutions company owned by locals Allan and Raewyn Lambert, who have been in business for 10 years. Their company services a wide area, including Te Aroha, Morrinsville, Cambridge, Tirau, Putaruru and as far away as Litchfield.

Lambert said claiming the top award was quite a process and he was surprised to win again, considering they were up against big franchises in Auckland and Christchurch.

As part of the processes in achieving the award, the company’s work procedures were looked at.

Lambert said he was also proud that he and his staff had achieved the Instep sustainability award.

‘‘We always look at our sustainability,’’ he said.

Lambert said Apparelmaster were also very proud sponsors of the Life Education Trust. At the awards evening a total of $15,000 was raised for the charity which teaches health and nutrition to thousands of Kiwi kids each year.

Lambert said he couldn’t be prouder of his team for retaining the top title.

‘‘It’s a great team effort. Being able to achieve that is no mean feat. It’s a reflection of how hard staff work in the business,’’ he said.

Recognition will also come from the company’s head office in Wellington, which is arranging to take staff out.

Allan, Raewyn and their staff want to thank their loyal customers around the Waikato for their ongoing support.
