No time for mid winter blues during Christmas festival

-

With just days until the doors open on Matamata’s Mid Winter Christmas Festival, the town’s talented entertainers are finalising their performances.

A number of groups and individuals will be taking to the stage as part of this year’s Mid Winter Christmas Festival. Their hope will be to entertain the large crowds expected at the popular fundraising event.

Final preparations are also being made to the Christmas courts, trees, cafe and shop.

Mid Winter Christmas Festival committee president Jill Sanson-Emerton said she is ‘‘really excited’’ and looking forward to sharing the wonderful talent Matamata has in the community.

‘‘ Months in the making some of the pieces I have seen from our team of exhibitors are absolutely amazing.

‘‘Brightening the souls of others in the middle of winter will be an absolute privilege to all involved.’’

The festival opens tomorrow, from 10am to 6pm, continuing on Friday from 10am to 6pm then on Saturday from 10am to 3pm at 11 Meura St.

Entry is $5 for adults and gold coin for children. There will be no eftpos at the facility, but plenty to purchase.
