Strong early entries in dairy awards

-

There are less than three weeks to go until entries close in the 2016 Waikato Dairy Industry Awards.

Regional manager Aaron Price says the region has received 32 entries to date in the region’s Share Farmer of the Year, Dairy Manager of the Year and Dairy Trainee of the Year competitions. Entries close on November 30. ‘‘Our launch event last month on DairyNZ’s Scott Farm provided a great opportunity for people to learn about some of the latest on-farm research activities and how entering the awards can benefit and reward them professionally and personally,’’ Price said.

‘‘We told them about the significant changes that have been made to the competitions this year with new entry names.’’

He said the changes affect all three competitions and have been made to enable more people to enter the awards programme and to make the competitions more even.

Those that enter the awards by midnight on November 20 and proceed through judging will be eligible for the Early Bird Entry Prize Draw of travel vouchers and spending money.

There are three prize draws – one for early entrants in each competition – and $15,000 in vouchers and money to give away.
