Twilight fair’s alluring

- TERESA HATTAN

The Matamata Twilight Fair will be a great place to buy Christmas presents, organisers say.

The fair will be held inside Headon Stadium and at Pohlen Park on Saturday, November 28 from 5pm-9pm.

Organisers held a market last November and December in the Matamata Memorial Centre and found it was well received. ‘‘We thought instead of having one once a month like the Saturday morning [market], we’d have it once or twice a year to keep it more of a special event,’’ organiser Laura Manning said.

The organisers all have hobbies including photography, art and craft.

‘‘We just wanted to get them out there and help others in town,’’ Laura said.

The twilight market will provide the opportunity for all of these people to come and show their wares ahead of the busy Christmas season.

Anyone wanting to carry out fundraising is welcome to approach the organisers.

Food stalls such as a pizza food truck, spinning spuds and hangi are already booked.

Organisers would love to see families venture down to the twilight fair for dinner.

A bouncy castle, rides, musicians and buskers will provide plenty of entertainment for the whole family.
