Santa is coming to town

-

Santa is coming to town.

Saturday, December 3 will mark Santa’s parade down the main street, as the star attraction of the 2016 PRA Christmas Parade.

Entering a float is free and open to anyone. Registration is essential so every float receives a health and safety plan.

‘‘The Christmas parade is always great fun for the entire family’’ says parade organiser Hayley Horne.

A winner will be selected from each of the five categories, including best float, most humorous, best school, best commercial and most original.

Winners receive a trophy and $50 gift voucher, with an extra $50 gift voucher for the ‘PRA pick’.

The parade starts at 11am at the corner of Hetana Street, heading down Broadway and back up onto Arawa Street to start again.

‘‘Many of our local businesses help support the parade, we are grateful to everyone, we couldn’t do it without them.’’
