Close games in 4s com­pe­ti­tion at Rewa

The Post Sec­tion of the Waikato Open Men and Women’s 4s took place at Rewa on Sun­day, Novem­ber13.

It was windy but re­mained fine for the games.

Re­sults of the Women’s 4s: Six teams took part in the qual­i­fy­ing rounds on Satur­day at Hill­crest Bowl­ing Club.

Af­ter three rounds: Frank­ton Junc­tion; Hin­uera; and Sta­dium (1) had 6 points.Toko­roa had 4 points. Sta­dium (2) had 3 points.

Hill­crest had 1 point. Two fur­ther rounds were played at Rewa. Frank­ton Junc­tion and Hin­uera both won their games giv­ing them a fur­ther six points each.

Sta­dium (1) and Toko­roa won a fur­ther three points each. Sta­dium (2) and Hill­crest re­mained un­changed.

This meant that Frank­ton Junc­tion and Hin­uera both had 12 points, so it went back to the win­ner of their game played in the qual­i­fy­ing round which was won by Frank­ton Junc­tion.

The win­ning team were: Ash­leigh Jef­f­coat(S); Noe­line Han­cock(3); Toni Roberts-His­lop(2) and Ker­rie Lup­son.

Re­sult of the Men’s 4s: Eight teams were in the Men’s post Sec- tion: Round 1: Pu­taruru def. Te Kuiti(1). Hin­uera(1) def. Hill­crest(1). Hill­crest(2) def. Frank­ton Rail­way. Hin­uera(2) def, Te Kuiti(2).

The Fi­nal was a bat­tle be­tween Hin­uera(1) and Hill­crest(2), go­ing to an ex­tra end to find a win­ner. The win­ners from Hin­uera were; Stu Set­tle; Bruce Milne; G.Slat­tery and Kevin Smith. 2: Hin­uera (1) Hill­crest(2) def. def.
