Feast on Bentley Bentayga

- DAMIEN O'CARROLL

Yes, this is actually a thing: Daylesford Organic, a UK-based farm and farm-shop collective, has created an organic British picnic to ‘‘complement the flavours of the season and the Linley Hamper by Mulliner for the Bentley Bentayga’’.

That’s right, now you can get a picnic hamper, complete with Linley china, cutlery, tableware and crystal glass, as well as the food to go with it, for your Bentley SUV!

According to executive chef at Daylesford Organic, Gaven Fuller, when devising the menu he was ‘‘inspired by the flavours and colours of the best organic seasonal produce’’.

According to Bentley: ‘‘His skill as a chef mirrors the craftsmanship and attention to detail that go into the creation of each and every Bentley.’’

The bespoke feast (everything is bespoke at Bentley) includes a carved Daylesford pumpkin filled with green kale, heritage apples, crispy bacon, toasted seeds and a honey mustard dressing.

This comes with an autumnal buckwheat tabbouleh; wild mushroom, truffle and gruyere arancini; roasted squash and balsamic red onion tartlets and red kuri squash, chilli and chickpea cakes.

To finish, there are raspberry macaroons with a buttercream filling, chocolate praline slices and lemon and raspberry gateau.

The actual picnic set comprises of three separate compartments, each hand-trimmed by Mulliner’s (Bentley’s in-house ‘personal commissioning division’) craftspeople in a choice of six different exterior leather colours.

They will even embroider a name, logo or family crest into the leather. Bespoke, you see. T
