Game on for 12-week challenge

- REXINE HAWES

Matamata has taken on the challenge to have the fittest people of all the Matamata-Piako towns.

Sport Waikato, together with Active and Well started the 12-week challenge. Matamata tipped the proverbial scales in its favour, with 22 entrants, in comparison to Morrinsville’s 13 and Te Aroha’s five.

This is part of the Green Prescription service, a Ministry Of Health initiative offering healthy lifestyle support and advice, delivered by Sport Waikato’s Active and Well team.

Each week participants will receive an email including links to information, tips, articles and challenges. You can enter as an individual or you can enter as a group or business to be more competitive.

Matamata-Piako Sport Waikato District Co-ordinator Lou Beer says participants could choose challenges from a list and hopefully pick a different challenge each time.

Each community usually has the option to attend a 15 minute face-to-face meeting for goal setting and measurements.
