Players battle on in soggy conditions

The competitio­n for the golfing week February 18-21 was the third round of the Summer Cup (par golf).

A good sized field of 13 ladies played on Saturday in conditions which were a bit soggy after Friday’s rain.

Best Summer Cup score was Ruth Taylor +4.

Best Scramble results were Ruth Taylor 39, Faye Matthews 39, Michelle Liddle 37.

Michelle Liddle was the Robert Harris voucher winner.

Tuesday saw the completion of the Summer Cup rounds.

Ruth Taylor emerged the overall winner of the Summer Cup with 37 points with Pam Gillies runner up with 35 points.

Ruth took a healthy lead into the last round.

Pam tried hard to pull back her lead with a +5 round but wasn’t quite good enough, but it did earn her the Golfer of the Week title.

Best Scramble results Barbara Hodgkinson 42, Pam Gillies 41, Paulene Coleman 41, Joan McSweeney 41, Dianne O’Reilly 39 and Agnes Kim 38.

Catherine Brown was the winner of the O Del Emz voucher.

Our nine-hole ladies played the first round of their Summer Cup (net).

From the field of eight ladies, Jan Mullane top scored with 33 net.

They were thrilled to welcome June O’Brien back to golf.
