The Green gets splash of colour

- REXINE HAWES

At the end of November the Green will be full of colour as artists converge to the Hetana St site.

Art on the Green is the annual exhibition for the Matamata Society of Arts members.

The society usually hosts a major art exhibition every year in the Memorial Centre.

Due to it being under construction, the society is holding a much smaller display of its members works at Railside by the Green on November 25.

Individual artists will be displaying their individual works and there will be a rare opportunity for people to witness some of the art work in progress.

Matamata Society of Art member Ernie Keene says they are all excited to share their art work with the community and hope people will come down and see some of talent Matamata has to offer.

‘‘It’s a chance for all us artists to display our work, show what we do, get feedback and and maybe sell it too.

‘‘It brings our art society out into the fore.’’

He said they are always looking for new members to be involved, and this is the perfect chance for people to come and ask questions and see if it is the right fit.

Some of the art work will be available for purchase, as well as some crafts.

Eftpos will be available for people at Art on the Green.
