MiNDFOOD (New Zealand)

THE TIES THAT BIND US

- Joanna

To my delight I was able to buy a copy of MiNDFOOD – congratulations on still getting it to print and out there for us all to buy. I’ve always loved MiNDFOOD but your editorial this month is amazing – the best thing I’ve read since the start of our lockdown here in New Zealand. There were so many things I could relate to, especially your words about missing your grown-up children. Being with our grown-up kids and having them all together is what I have missed the most.

I count myself lucky that we are all well, that our government is doing all the right things, and that we all have jobs, even though some are working less and of course, being paid less.

So many people are in a worse situation and I have such sympathy for those bringing new life into the world or farewelling the dead at this time.

But I still can’t stop visualising that moment when our family can again hug and touch and laugh and cry with each other as we all sit around the same table sharing good wine and good food. Never again will I take this for granted.

Thanks for the inspiration. Keep up the good work, take care and stay well.
