THE DUNKIRK EVACUATION

-

Witnessing hundreds of civilian boats leave Dover for the evacuation of Dunkirk, Lamm says it was a “miraculous happening”. “They just immediately crossed the Channel, picked up the troops who were on the beaches there – it was quite amazing actually,” she says. “It was called a miracle, and it really was because everybody who had any sort of vessel wanted to go to the rescue of these soldiers.”
