Why use Launch? Why use a scan tool?

-

Each year, cars seem to get more and more complicated. From the early 1990s through to today cars can have well more than 100 microprocessors on board. These microprocessors make it near-impossible for you to service your customer’s car properly without the manufacturer’s scan/ software interface.

Primary reasons for this increase in the number of microprocessors are based around the need for sophisticated engine controls to meet emissions and fuel economy standards, along with: Advanced diagnostics. Simplification of the manufacture and design of cars. Weight and cost reduction drivers resulting in less electrical wiring in cars. Ongoing safety feature requirements. From this need Launch began more than 20 years ago developing a scanner that performs many advanced functions like a factory scan tool, and over these years has created what many of our customers feel is the best value aftermarket scanner on the market today.

After the successful market release of the Launch X431 Pad II and the 24V Truck package. Launch has added various new functions free for all existing and new Launch Pad II users.

Launch has now included the following Automatic reset functions on the Pad II: Service reset. Brake pad reset. SAS steering angle reset. DPF burn-off reset. Throttle re-learn reset. Battery reset. Brake bleeding. TPMS tyre pressure monitor calibration. Immobiliser reset and more automatic functions on the way!

These functions allow you to automatically carry out common service functions without the timeconsuming and sometimes hard-tofind functions in the OEM software.

Launch has now added Audi/VW/ Skoda channel codes and service procedures such as throttle relearn, and airbag module replacement. Also added to the Launch Pad II is an automatic fault code search feature. After you have scanned the vehicle for diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) you can now highlight each DTC and the Pad II will automatically search the Internet for you and provide you with a range of relevant information about each fault code. A massive timesaver.

The Launch Pad II is a clear winner, and we have many very happy workshops, auto electricians, plus transmission, air conditioning, and diesel specialists that will testify how amazing this Launch Pad II is. Do not buy a scanner until you have reviewed the Launch Pad II.

With the huge increase in sales of Launch X-431 scan tools worldwide, recently we have found companies dealing in pirated/illegal versions. Since the structure and configuration of some units have been altered greatly during the piracy/registration process, these units will not and cannot be updated with the complete software coverage and serviced by the authorised Launch branch.

Future software updates, or warranty services will be null and void. There have been cases where these units have caused irreparable damage to the vehicle being tested.

We kindly advise Please DO NOT purchase pirated/illegal X431 from these companies and websites .You will find that the cost savings up front will soon be overshadowed by the added costs you will incur by having to reconfigure, update, repair damaged control modules and in most cases stop using the unauthorised Launch scanner. We welcome anyone to report those companies and traders who are suspected of selling these pirated/ illegal units.
