Speed up your workshop

-

Repco’s Navigator Pro is an entirely web-based solution which lists parts for more than 17,000 vehicles sourced by Repco from around the globe. Navigator Pro enables the user to select a specific vehicle, along with its most commonly used parts, with just five clicks of the mouse. To make selection even quicker, simply enter the vehicle’s registration number.

With the expansion of the modern car parc, the pressure is greater than ever for workshops to manage multiple makes and models from Asia and Europe along with the traditional Australian and Japanese staples.

Along with multiple brands of the common items, Navigator provides access to live pricing and specials, along with inventory availability, and even parts specifications with photographs – all shown on a single screen.

If a part or parts aren’t in the common list once the vehicle is selected, the area of specific interest, such as suspension or drive train, can be selected, and are populated with parts specific to the vehicle.

Lists can be made from individual vehicles, through to weekly and monthly stock orders. Other than the obvious benefit in time savings (estimated at a minimum 30 minutes per day for a three-hoist workshop) Navigator Pro’s entirely web-based platform allows it to be used anywhere, and on multiple devices, from desktop and notebook computers, through to Microsoft Windows, Android or Apple tablets.

This means that a workshop owner, manager or administrator is no longer tied to a desk. Stock orders can be made in the stock room, and parts can be ordered directly from the workshop.

Within Navigator Pro is a brand new complementary application, Repco’s Smart Quote. Repco charges a negligible amount for this product – less than the cost of a coffee per day. It’s the combination of Navigator Pro with Smart Quote, where the application really shines, providing accurate Log Book service guides and quotes in under a minute.

Smart Quote is also available to Navigator Pro/SAM integrated customers.

Jonathon Maddren, Repco’s general manager of sales and operations, says that this system can really help workshops by delivering: Fast and efficient quoting in less than a minute. The ability to ensure all OE recommended service items are being carried out. Production of professional quotes for customers. Provide a comprehensive check list for technicians. Reduced credits through more accurate parts selection. Ability to increase average customer invoice value by 20 percent or more Vehicle selection is through Navigator Pro’s simple make and model selection process as above. Following a click on the Smart Quote tab, a drop down box to choose whether the vehicle is used in normal or harsh conditions and selection of either mileage or time services; or combinations of both, a comprehensive log book estimate is brought up on screen. The quotation includes the necessary parts, labour, workshop consumables and even waste disposal fees.

Quotes can be printed or emailed to the customer using a tablet computer, and they can be provided anytime from anywhere – a really useful feature. Workshop owners and managers can modify labour rates and times based on levels of complexity outside the norm, and even include parts in a quote that can’t be sourced in Navigator Pro.

Servicing the wide, varied and electronically enhanced range of vehicles on the market today has placed pressure on the workshop owner or manager. Technology can relieve the pressure and complexity as evidenced by Repco’s Navigator Pro and Smart Quote.
