The most-ser­viced ve­hi­cles of 2016

The Toy­ota Hilux has topped the list of the most com­mon ve­hi­cles taken into work­shops dur­ing 2016, ac­cord­ing to fig­ures re­leased by Au­to­data.

Toy­ota, first be­gan pro­duc­tion of their pop­u­lar utes in 1968. To­day, there are more than 880,000 Toy­ota Hilux utes on Aus­tralian and New Zealand roads com­bined. Other mod­els to fea­ture in the top five in­clude the Nis­san Navara, Ford Ranger, Mit­subishi Tri­ton, and the Holden Com­modore, the only saloon car to make the top five most-ser­viced ve­hi­cles in 2016.

This year’s top 20 also in­cludes other highly pop­u­lar ve­hi­cles such as the Holden Rodeo, Mazda 3, Nis­san Pa­trol, Toy­ota Hi­ace, Holden Cruze and the Holden Cap­tiva – which made its début in Aus­tralia and New Zealand only 10 years ago, in 2006.

Au­to­data com­piled the list based on the num­ber of ser­vice sched­ules ac­cessed by its Aus­tralian and New Zealand sub­scribers, with more than 45 per­cent of in­de­pen­dent work­shops hav­ing used Au­to­data’s lat­est on­line plat­form in the past 12 months.
