The most-serviced vehicles of 2016

-

The Toyota Hilux has topped the list of the most common vehicles taken into workshops during 2016, according to figures released by Autodata.

Toyota, first began production of their popular utes in 1968. Today, there are more than 880,000 Toyota Hilux utes on Australian and New Zealand roads combined. Other models to feature in the top five include the Nissan Navara, Ford Ranger, Mitsubishi Triton, and the Holden Commodore, the only saloon car to make the top five most-serviced vehicles in 2016.

This year’s top 20 also includes other highly popular vehicles such as the Holden Rodeo, Mazda 3, Nissan Patrol, Toyota Hiace, Holden Cruze and the Holden Captiva – which made its début in Australia and New Zealand only 10 years ago, in 2006.

Autodata compiled the list based on the number of service schedules accessed by its Australian and New Zealand subscribers, with more than 45 percent of independent workshops having used Autodata’s latest online platform in the past 12 months.

Autodata Australia’s managing director, Brett Engeman said: “One of the many benefits of Autodata’s continuous evolution is the increasingly high levels of industry intelligence that allows us to see where the demand for content exists, so that we can provide the most in-demand and up-to-date information to workshops.”
