Fashion hits street for spring parade
Piggybacking off the success of the Napier CBD fashion parade held in March this year, Market St will once again come alive with the latest season's what to wear.
The parade will showcase 20 local retailers. Sponsored by the Hits 89.5, Megan Banks will host the event and guide viewers through the different retailers and their outfits.
With the Spring Racing Carnival coming up on October 6, the fashion parade is a great chance for local shoppers to stock up on supplies and prepare for the start of the warmer weather.
Many of the retailers involved are collaborating for this Saturday's event.
This form of fashion parade is unique and Napier City Business Inc plans to host more parades at the start of spring and autumn each year.
Steph Kennard, acting manager of Napier City Business Inc, says the retailers and audience alike really enjoy the atmosphere of the fashion parades.
“It's fantastic to see our CBD retailers working together so that our shoppers have an opportunity to experience a parade that is both free to attend and also gives them a great idea of the fashion sense for the coming season.”
From September 14-21, shoppers in participating stores are being given the opportunity to enter the grand prize draw with a value of more than $2000. Spot prizes will be given out on the day.
■ Napier CBD Fashion Parade, kicks off Saturday, September 22, 1.30pm, Market St, Napier (between Emerson and Tennyson streets). If it is raining, the parade will continue and move to Ocean Boulevard (entrance from Emerson St situated between Life Pharmacy and Footloose Shoes).
