A kangaroo court

-

Eileen Wilkin stated at the special general meeting held on March 6 that Neville Male was given a 93 per cent mandate at the earlier SGM. Male may have had a 93 per cent majority vote at that meeting but if the attendance and proxy votes are calculated against the total membership of 9200, the actual percentage voting for him was only 6 per cent.

Louise Carter was named on the proxy forms, but she had resigned as a member of Nelson Grey Power, and if those proxies were used, were they legal?

The SGM was unconstitutional, the chairman had no control and was not impartial, proxy votes numbers varied, the numbers attending were incorrect as was the counting of the votes by the scrutineers.

The resolution to re-admit Male to the membership was purely and simply that: ‘Re-admit Mr Male to the membership, NOT the Presidency.’

As Male was not voted in as president he has no authority to demand the elected management committee resign as per resolution 2.

Anyone wishing to make a complaint to the New Zealand Press Council should first put it in writing to the editor. If not satisfied with the reply, complainants should then write to The Secretary, NZ Press Council, Box 10 879, Wellington, including a clipping of the disputed article and copies of the correspondence.

Resolution 3 demanding a letter of apology from the National Federation for allowing a federation member to chair a meeting called by the management committee to try and solve the impasse. Male, Carter and Saunders were invited. None of the three attended.

The SGM on Friday was a kangaroo court that blatantly disregards recognised standards of constitutional law and has no validity.

Fast forward 200 years. In 2 Samuel chapter 21, King Saul ethnically cleansed Gibeonites from Jerusalem leading to Saul’s own downfall and death, seven years of civil war, and three years of famine, before King David succeeded Saul. Thereupon David, seeking reconciliation, asked the surviving Gibeonites, ‘‘What must I do that you will bless me?’’ They required of David full restitution in them hanging Saul’s seven surviving male heirs.

The original treaty was fraudulent, centuries had passed, a different leader ruled, yet Joshua’s treaty was still fully honoured. Can James Lincolne see the parallels with our own Treaty? about $2000.I have made a claim with the liquidator, but have yet to hear from either the council or the liquidator.

We are now into March. Perhaps Councillor Davy might like to check up for me.
