Four challenges
Having publicly offered my congratulations to those elected to Nelson City Council, I now have four simple challenges that I would like to set for them:
1. Get Lewis Stanton off our streets. A simple by-law setting parameters for protest action and then effective enforcement should do it.
2. Get freedom campers out of our public car parks. They must be directed to use one of our many fine motor camps – we wouldn’t be allowed to do what they do here in their countries. A simple by-law and some effective compliance enforcement should do it.
3. Produce a resolution from NCC to the NZTA Southern Link business case study group that supports the NZTA process and its outcomes but reserves the right to negotiate proposed solutions
4. Erect a large (20-metre) flag pole on the Trafalgar St/SH6 and Quarantine Rd/SH6 roundabouts with a big NZ flag like Auckland Airport have got. No money? Call it art – should get plenty of money to erect and maintain.
I’d say that these challenges could be completed by Christmas this year.
