Making history
It was good to read your generous coverage of this year’s Heritage Week ( Nelson Mail, April 13).
Nelson City Council’s investment in marking this themed event over recent years is admirable, but it is to co-ordinator Debbie Daniell-Smith our warmest thanks and appreciation should be addressed.
I understand that Debbie will soon leave her arts-heritage role at NCC, which is a loss for our whole region, which shares the same heritage story.
Debbie has done a fabulous job over several years in coordinating an eclectic mix of heritage activities, and developing resources such as the leaflets on heritage walks. She has set a very high standard that other areas can only envy, and it will be very hard to replace her.
Thank you, Debbie, for all you have done to increase awareness of the fascinating heritage story of our region.
