Daly backs Foran

Kieran Foran’s possible return for New Zealand spells trouble for Australia in their upcoming rugby league test next month, according to good friend Daly Cherry-Evans. Foran has been in red-hot form for the Warriors since his anticipated return from personal issues last month and the former Kiwis captain is in line for a recall for the annual fixture. Cherry-Evans believes that is only bad news for a Kangaroos side ahead of their looming World Cup defence later this year. ‘‘For Australia’s sake, I hope he doesn’t play. He’s a fantastic player,’’ Cherry-Evans, the Manly Sea Eagles halfback, said. ‘‘He’s playing some good football, it’s just great to see him come back and have such an impact on their side, a positive one at that.’’
