Hall limit
Fewer than 300 people will be able to gather in Wakefield Hall while Tasman District Council investigates strengthening the building. The TDC community development committee heard the hall did not meet a required 34 per cent of new building standards as an importance level three building. Restricting the capacity of the hall to fewer than 300 people would lower it to importance level two and it would "just" achieve 34 per cent of new building standards. The hall had a design capacity of 395 people. It usually drew more than 300 people for Anzac Day services and Country Players evenings only.
