Peter Olorenshaw is correct in stating that building more roads has never solved the problem of traffic congestion.

Wakatu drive has relieved Stoke of traffic but it has only shifted the problem along towards Nelson.

Is the problem solved? No. And if the SL is built the traffic will pile up in Nelson CBD.

Cities that have multi story carparks still are burdened with traffic. A bus service that entices everyday commuters would have been a better solution.
