Living in past

-

I believe the National Party currently has no friends in the MMPenvironment. The last election showed National’s true arrogance of proving they’re still living in the First Past the Post system.

National thinks by making big headlines that their friends in media are good with it. National has to accept the fact that it didn’t form the Government because they were born to rule and until they change their ways and learn to work with other parties the same problem could happen again. building consent.

In my mind the same design flaws were apparent at the Pike River Mine. Both projects were death traps and no one is held to account.

In the case of the CTV Building I can recall reading a design staff member forged his qualifications. Therefore if that is correct surely the police had a strong case to advocate accountability on our behalf. cycling in Richmond, we face an increasing number of people who think that it is their right to ride their bikes along the pavements.

There are a few shared pathways, but these are clearly marked, the rest of the pavements are for pedestrians.

As a fellow cyclist I amat a loss as to why people would choose to ride on the pavement, it is actually safer and faster on the road.

I can understand small children using their cycles on the pavement but once children have full sized bikes they should be on the road.

Cyclists are travelling much faster than walkers and joggers and often noiselessly.

It is very dangerous for pedestrians and soon we will have a serious accident.

Even foreign tourists are following the illegal habits of some locals. If the cyclists who ride on pavements feel unsafe on the road then let’s find out why and do something about it.

But let’s not have people taking the law into their own hands and riding where they please and endangering other people, especially those young adults who criss-cross from road to pavement and back again whenever they fancy.
