Further charges possible

A man accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of jewellery in burglaries in Nelson, Blenheim and Tasman district may have more charges laid against him. Christopher Payne, 38, appeared in the Nelson District Court yesterday facing charges of burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a needle or syringe for cannabis, possession of utensils for methamphetamine and a breach of release conditions. He was remanded in custody to reappear on July 30.
