Driver killed 91-year-old

Alfred Price held Margaret Elizabeth Stewart’s hand as she lay dying on a Hamilton road in December 2017. Price was looking for a business entrance as he drove his truck-andtrailer unit at 30kmh. He didn’t see the red light at the pedestrian crossing nor Stewart, 91, edging along with her mobility walker. Price was sentenced at the Hamilton District Court yesterday after admitting a charge of careless driving causing death. He was ordered to pay $5000 reparation to the family and was allowed to keep his driving licence.
