What’s on in Nelson
❚ A winter hoedown is set to rock the Canvastown Hall in Marlborough from 7pm tomorrow. With Nelson bluegrass band Coppermine Junction. Bring your boots and pull up a haybale. Tickets $20 at the door or $15 pre-purchased.
❚ Michael Hurst is performing No Holds Bard at Ghost Light Theatre on August 14 at 7.30pm, and at Takaka’s Village Theatre on August 15 at 7.30pm.
❚ Italian musicians Matteo Napoli and Lilia Carpinelli are coming back to Nelson after a 10-year break to perform for opera fans at the Nelson Centre of Musical Arts on August 17 from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
❚ The Nelson Pun Battle Championships are coming back to Ghost Light Theatre in Bridge St for one show only, at 8pm on August 25.
❚ Nelson Provincial Museum’s new exhibition It All Comes Back to Thread – Embroidery Now and Then is on until September 9.
❚ Different musicians are performing lunchtime concerts at the NCMA every Thursday at 12.30pm. Tickets $10, available online at ncma.nz or at the door.
❚ Garments from the 2017 World of WearableArt show are on display at the WOW Museum in Annesbrook.
