❚ A Housie Night is being held at Hotel Motueka tonight at 6pm, fundraisin­g for sick children at Nelson Hospital. Entry is $10. Prize money of $100 up for grabs.

❚ Nelson Centre of Musical Arts will host the Battle of the Organs with Kemp English tomorrow. It will feature famous works by musicians including Bach, Dubois and SaintSae¨ns. Entry is $20 for adults and $5 for children plus service fees.

❚ The Story of Robert Louis Stevenson Sing Me A Song will be performed by musicians Neil Adam (vocals/guitar) and Judy Turner (violin/ narration) with contempora­ry folk-style music inspired by the poems and words of the famous writer. Performanc­e is at Fairfield House on September 19, 7.30pm. Adult tickets $20, students $15.

❚ A WOW crew will be at the National WOW Museum on September 19 from 10am to 12pm as part of a 30th anniversar­y celebratio­n touring the country. A number of people will be there including Dame Suzie Moncrieff and WOW designers.

❚ Students from Nelson Centre of Musical Arts are holding concerts on Sunday at 1.30–2.15pm and 3–3.45pm. The first concert showcases piano, ‘‘Stringendo’’ and the NCMA Jazz Orchestra. The 3pm concert features piano, string, dance and musical theatre. Pay what you feel.

❚ Besotted: Deliciousl­y, Delusional Opera by Michelanne Forster is on at the Nelson Centre of Musical Arts on September 20 at 12.30pm. The play about delusion, drama, passion, and plumbers is being developed for the NZ festival circuit. Tickets $10.

❚ Nelson Symphony Orchestra are performing Opera Mania at NCMA on September 22, 7.30pm. They will present a programme of popular operatic songs. Adults $27, children $5, family of four $56 + service fees.

❚ Floral portraits by Emma Bass will be on exhibition at Red Gallery, 1 Bridge St, to September 29.

❚ Nelson Youth Theatre are performing the musical Grease at the Theatre Royal from September 19 to 29. Tickets are available through TicketDire­ct or the Theatre Royal.

❚ James Kirkwood is having a solo exhibition ‘Walters Bluff: Outdoors for the Indoors’ at the Quiet Dog Gallery in Nelson to October 8.

❚ The Top of the South Film Festival is on at the Suter Theatre today and tomorrow.

❚ Paintings by Jean McNabb are on display at Elevation Cafe and Bar on High St in Motueka until October 1.

❚ Paintings by Jean Pope are on display at European Bakery and Cafe on High St in Motueka until October 1.

❚ Paintings by Joan Harkess are on display at Muses Cafe on High St in Motueka until October 1.

❚ The Nga¯ Hau Nga¯kau (Breath of Mine) exhibit by Brian Flintoff, Bob Bickerton and Robin Slow is on at the Suter Art Gallery until October 21.

❚ The Nelson Provincial Museum’s exhibition A Century of Saying Cheese will run until November 25.

❚ Different musicians are performing lunchtime concerts at the NCMA every Thursday at 12.30pm.

❚ Garments from the 2017 World of WearableAr­t show are on display at the WOW Museum in Annesbrook.

❚ Jam it out every Wednesday and Thursday from 8pm at Liquid NZ Bar in Bridge St. Everyone is welcome, bring your own instrument­s or borrow one on the night. Or just sit back and be entertaine­d.
